John Mitchell – more commonly known as Mitch Mitchell – was an English musician born on July 9th 1947 in Ealing, Middlesex. He was the drummer, percussionist and occasional backing vocalist of Jimi Hendrix' longest-running band The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and went on to play in Hendrix's short-lived Gypsy Sun and Rainbows and The Cry of Love bands, The Dirty Macs and Ramatam, before his semi-retirement early in the 21st Century and his subsequent death in 2008.
