John Mitchell – more commonly known as Mitch Mitchell – was an English musician born on July 9th 1947 in Ealing, Middlesex. He was the drummer, percussionist and occassional backing vocalist of short-lived band The Jimi Hendrix Experience and went on to play in Hendrix's Gypsy Sun and Rainbows and The Cry of Love bands, The Dirty Macs and Ramatam, before his semi-retirement early in the 21st Century and his subsequent death in 2008.
